Tariq Mubarak

Tariq is an experienced real estate and real estate finance solicitor with particular expertise in the SME property development sector. He has over 20 years of combined legal practice and property consultancy experience. He is renowned for his commercial and practical advice. He builds strong relationships with many of his longstanding clients earning him ‘trusted adviser’ status with them.

Having completed his training to qualify as a solicitor with a high street practice in fashionable Notting Hill, Tariq joined a West End practice where he specialised in residential property. He then moved on to specialise in commercial property with a regional firm in New Malden, Surrey.

In 2009, Tariq founded his own boutique property law firm based in Kingston-Upon-Thames. Having employed over 21 staff and acted on some large property transactions, including various shopping centres and prime Central London residential and commercial properties, Tariq merged his law firm in April 2019 with a Guildford, Surrey based firm. Tariq joined the merged firm as a Commercial Property Partner later becoming the Head of their Commercial Team.

Tariq is married with three kids and is famed (at least amongst his kids) for his pancakes and French toast. In his free time, Tariq invests heavily in his personal development – both mentally and physically. He is also a property investor and equity investor in startup ventures. Tariq speaks regularly at business and property events and regularly writes for various property and business magazines.

  • Acquisition of mixed-use portfolio comprising retail and office premises, Travelodge and land with development potential in Croydon for Indian based Private Family Office at £24 Million (Trusted Advisor status)
  • Acquisition of land for residential development for established housing developer at £2.65 Million (Trusted Advisor status)
  • Acquisition of ex-bank premises building in Wokingham at £1.2 Million for conversion by developer client into residential units (Trusted Advisor status)
  • Sale of hotel in Devon (with benefit of planning permission for development into residential units) for £4.25 Million, having assisted the client with acquiring the site then negotiating and completing the S. 106 agreement to secure planning permission
  • Acquisition of 8-storey office building (including anchor tenants – KP Snacks, serviced office operator & Fujitsu) with development potential in Slough, for Indian based Private Family Office for £11.5 Million. (Trusted Advisor status)
  • Various corporate acquisitions of real estate assets owning companies – total deal value: £6.5 Million
  • Acquisition of commercial (occupational) lease near Notting Hill Gate for long established Middle Eastern restaurateur client. This is tenth acquisition for this client (Trusted Advisor status)
  • Acquisition of mixed-use portfolio comprising retail and office premises with development potential in Bromley for Indian based Private Family Office for £6.33 Million (Trusted Advisor status)
  • Plot sales of new build residential units for various developer clients – total about 25 units
  • Various (exit) refinances of commercial and residential properties following development by developer clients
